The thing about people is they like the status quo, and don't realize that things can be better. Too many Democrats pander to the moderates who want to stay safe with the status quo. Democrats need to be the party that envisions a better future. People will follow when you show them a better way.

Unemployment can last much longer than 23 days, yet the shutdown is showing us that even the briefest interruption in pay and services for the average American is absolutely devastating. Sanders and AOC have warned about these things. I hope this has made others finally see it too.
