I thought I saw a “peanut butter” scented candle but on closer inspection it was “peony blossom.” Another side-effect of grocery shopping while hungry, I guess

There needs to be a word for “words that seem to refer to a creature or animal, but actually don’t” (e.g. “dongle,” “ramekin”).

Some coworkers and I partially disassembled an old upright piano and are turning it into a visual art object. More painting ideas than sculpture ideas, but you’ll get that with a painter, I guess 😁

I was going to take a great photo of some clouds earlier but my phone ran out of charge. You’ll just need to take my word for it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Luna the D&D cat loves my Madrid public transit card (which I brought to D&D for some reason)

Wow, my ACLU card is colorful now?

So...hold on...you're telling me that "The Braxton Hicks Contraction" *isn't* a workmanlike political thriller or disaster movie from the '70s? You say Gene Hackman's not even in it?
Okay, well, false alarm, I guess. 🙃

Cool cats! Hamfisted drawing, but it gets a few cleverness points

Idle Watteau thought: with all the people in Watteau paintings hanging out in the woods, I think they should probably check for ticks.

Splurged on an orchestra-level seat for La Bohème at (@azopera.org) Saturday. I have this notion that I’m “too cool” for La Bohème, but no, that’s not really true. I listen and instantly remember hearing the 73’ Freni/Pavarotti/Karajan recording way back in 2001 when I was first getting into opera.

I run a regular Dungeons and Dragons campaign at a friend’s house. Luna, their cat, is the least aloof cat I’ve ever met, and enjoys head butting me, my computer, and the DM screen. #dungeonsanddragons #dnd #cat

A fuzzy digital photograph of a painting I did way back in 2006. It sold not a moment after leaving the easel, so this was the only record I had a chance to make of it. This definitely speaks of the cheer and optimism of one’s early twenties, no? 🙃 Feels about right for today, too. #hope #art

Working from a repro of an unclearly-attributed print of a Watteau drawing (I think?) Interesting, if not very Watteau-like

Here is my latest take. It's *screamingly* irrelevant, but unique: I put it to you that - in the 1948 MGM musical "Luxury Liner" - opera singer Lauritz Melchior here is channeling some real "TV's Frank from MST3K" energy with his haircut. I suspect time-travel nonsense. @frankconniff.bsky.social

A coworker asked yesterday if I liked blue cheeses, and I replied, “I want to like blue cheese, but I haven’t met the right one yet."

I've been on a big #watteau kick lately. The first image is my in-progress mixed-media transcription (started as a watercolor monotype), and the second image is a photo reproduction of "La Perspective" (c. 1715). (Yeah, I printed the monotype at a jaunty angle).
