Semester 1 Reflection: I used to be weeks ahead w/ planning, but struggled to be 1-2 days ahead last fall. 'Discomfort' attuned me to empathy: is this how students feel when it is all new to them? Being mindful of student needs & experiences was a big part of planning. A fresh start is powerful PD!

2/My goals have been to really make co-teaching a great experience for Ss, ensure my colleagues can be active leaders in room,implement UDL, LMS in way I was planning for PD. More importantly, build curriculum & class policy/culture from perspective of parent of Ss who struggle in school. End 🧵

🧵1/How did I get here? I served as a TOSA for the past 6 years, but my division was eliminated for "budget purposes." I was fortunate to return to the school I originally taught. Have two co-taught social science courses, 2 sections 9th grade, 2 10th grade. Fantastic co-teachers and great kids.
