@keefeglise After a more sober risk assessment we decided to have the air ambulance parked outside for the duration.

twice a year the entire U.S. press becomes a marketing extension of a single billionaire-owned retailer, and nobody in any position of editorial power thinks it's weird or gross

Listening to 10,000 days by Tool for the first time in a long time. I hadn't forgotten how good it is, but I'm enjoying being reminded anyway.

Somebody knocked over the shredder, then decided the result made a good nest.

A cartoon from my new book, 'Physics for Cats'. Out next week: www.tomgauld.com
A scientist stands in front of an enormous contraption
"I created this device to test my theory that our entire reality is a simulation, but the readings I'm
getting suggest something much worse"

 "What?" Asks a second scientist.
"We're living in a cartoon!" Says the first.
"Does it at least have a good punchline?" says the second.
The fiorst scientist carefully looks over the data, then eventually replies "Nope"

“Rise and shine, kiddo, we got a catch operation on runway 22. 1700pax onboard.”

“Second one this month. Heckin sloppy, boss.”

“You know, they used to just land airplanes on the belly if the landing gear got stuck”

“That’s wack. Surely it’d wreck the plane?”

“Pretty much yeah. They had the […]

Of course all swans are bastards, but apparently not usually to each other. Reggie crossed the line.

I feel like whoever set today's NYT Strands clue had read a dictionary definition of "Mum's the word" but had never heard it used.

They seem to think it means "be quiet", which I guess it does, but only in the sense of "keep a secret". I might expect a librarian to tell me "mum's the word" if I […]

It's never convenient when somebody accidentally goes through a mains cable, but if it's going to happen I can confirm it's most convenient that an electrician did it himself 😅 Back on in about 30 minutes.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to go and change my clothes.”

Luna is normally the opposite of snuggly, so when she jumped up on the sofa, crawled under my legs and went to sleep I felt honoured. It was only after the movie finished I realised I'd taken her recent favourite spot, and she was probably just bummed at me for […]
