Both the Labour government and the Labour Council led by Cowardly John Cotton have broken their promises to hold an inquiry into how Birmingham went bankrupt. What could they have to hide?

It's National Pothole Day! So many places in Birmingham to celebrate - we all know where they are!

Birmingham Tories are pledging, if we win in May, to release the £200m of repair funding the council has been sitting on

Nearly a year after industrial action started, agency workers have voted today to join the bin strike from the 1st of December. Labour's utter failure of leadership will likely mean the strike continues into the new year.

If the S114 Notice had not been issued and Commissioners not appointed, does anyone seriously believe that Birmingham Labour would have dealt with the equal pay and bins issues rather than carry on fudging and concealing?

'False' equal pay figure caused 'avalanche of misery' for Birmingham residents
The final equal pay settlement facing Birmingham City Council is much less than the figure that triggered effective bankruptcy

This is dire, but let's not forget that BEFORE the strike the recycling rate was only 7% higher on 22% - the second lowest in the country. Labour 's strike has turned what was already a disaster into a catastrophe

City recycling rates plummet to 15 per cent as street collections abandoned
A shocking knock-on impact of the bin strikes has been a huge drop in recycling, with the city burning and burying reuseable rubbish

True, @janerockhouse.bsky.social lots of "veterans" are going, but also striking that 57% of newly elected Lab Cllrs from 2022 have left the party, been kicked out, deselected or are standing down.

That's a survival rate lower than WW2 air crew (51%)

There are some awful potholes around Edgbaston at the moment, some of which have been marked up for repair for a long time and others which are not. We have reported some today on Metchley Lane, Norfolk Rd, Augustus Rd and Somerset Rd

A number of residents have raised concerns about what appears to be a sinking area on Westfield Rd. It was originally reported last year and it does seem to be getting worse. We are very concerned and have raised it a number of times, but the Council says it will be repaired by June. Let's hope so!
