When Jeff finally beat cancer, the very next day he went to see her. On that cold, misty morning, Freedom spread her wings and gently wrapped them around him as if she understood

Freedom became an educational bird, often perched on Jeff’s arm, inspiring others with her quiet dignity. Over time, they formed a bond built on patience, trust, and shared resilience.

Then, in 2000, Jeff’s life took a dark turn he was diagnosed with stage three cancer.

He cared for her every day feeding her, sitting beside her, talking softly, and encouraging her to hold on. After weeks of struggle, Freedom finally stood on her own. She would never fly again, but she was alive a living symbol of strength.
