If we still had to stick to using Metro, I would have created a brand new react app, modified Podfiles and gradle files as per third party dependency docs, then moved the src/ directory over.

Yes I’d definitely look into something like this now. With the project I was on, there was a lot of patching of third party libraries as a quick and dirty hack to handle things like corporate SSO.

For me, upgrading to a newer version on a project with two years of accumulated technical debt. It had to be done. I went from 0.61 to 0.65 and we were using Metro, not Expo. The biggest engineering undertaking of my career. It took 3 months.

I understand that and it’s a big concern. I didn’t mean ignoring it as accepting it. I meant ignoring them insofar as not giving them the attention they crave.

Ignore it. Talking about it means it’s working. Don’t give bad people attention.

It could be the video format you’re using that might not be supported, but the message you’re seeing isn’t making that clear. The video I added to test was straight from an iPhone as a mov h264.
