3/3 It looks great, and there are some things to like - especially Matthew Macfayden’s Guiteau and Shea Whigham as Roscoe Conklin but it seems like a missed opportunity. Too much sensationalism and not enough trust in the audience. Not surprised to hear that the Game of Thrones team was involved.

2/3 Also seemed to miss out on a lot of what made Garfield such an interesting character - his dedication to education, his deep sense of morality. I love Michael Shannon but there is a kind of distant quality to this portrayal that made his ultimate loss less consequential than it should have been
