Registered Nurse: Interests and experience include ED and urgent care, trauma, plastics, spinal surgery, advanced practise, nursing science, digital technologies, and education.
Student engagement is not a luxury in nursing education.

It’s a prerequisite for a sustainable nursing workforce and it needs proper resourcing to be real.

If we want safe, confident, compassionate future registrants, universities must invest in both the relational work that builds community and the digital infrastructure that supports modern learning.

You can’t KPI or attendance-monitor your way to genuine engagement.

You can’t rely on tech “solutions” when you bother to invest in them at all, without the human support and time that give them value.

Simulation, digital assessment tools, virtual learning environments, and AI-supported learning only work when institutions invest properly not when they’re held together with short-term fixes and outdated kit.

Nursing students need belonging, continuity, access to high-quality learning environments and meaningful technology that actually enhances their experience.

In nursing, that isn’t just an academic issue.

It becomes a workforce and patient safety risk.

Meh.... let an AI do the job😅

We will all belive it when we see it....

Patients and the profession deserve more than rhetoric.

We need a realistic, funded plan that matches those words to real action!!!

So the question is... when the government promises “more nurses,” where do they expect them to come from, exactly? Because unless training capacity, pay, retention, and working conditions improve, the promise rings hollow.
November 26, 2025 at 3:39 PM
And at the same time, we’re seeing widespread reports of experienced nurses being pushed into lower-paid roles, discouraged from staying in the profession or moving up.
November 26, 2025 at 3:39 PM
Meanwhile, many universities are shutting down courses or closing campuses, which means training capacity is being scaled back, not expanded.

"You have to buy your uniform, your tools, your safety equipment, and your clothing...."

Pretty sure that safety equipment is covered under the HSWA 1974, in that employers are legally required to provide you with safety equipment.

We thought AI would destroy us with laser-eyed robots.

Turns out all it had to do was answer our emails, write our essays, and plan our holidays until we collectively forgot how to think independently.

It’s not the rise of the machines, it’s the fall of our attention span.
November 26, 2025 at 12:39 PM
I mean, why stop there.

What we really need is an inquiry into all foreign and corporate influence on politicians.
November 26, 2025 at 11:47 AM
Soooo.... being inept to the point of 23,000 deaths not quite enough to get over the bar then???

Until then, they should keep their hands off the pensions we earn through decades of night shifts, poor pay, burnout and sacrifice.

Public sector pensions aren’t “unfairly generous.”

What’s unfair is being lectured on affordability by the very people who treat public money like a personal buffet.
November 23, 2025 at 8:46 PM
And the same day they’re held to the same standards, checks and accountability that they demand from nurses, teachers, firefighters and every other public sector worker holding this country together.
November 23, 2025 at 8:46 PM
The same day ministers lose their publicly funded gold-plated pensions, chauffeur cars, subsidised bars, and guaranteed pay rises, subsidised meals and homes.
November 23, 2025 at 8:46 PM
The same day they stop accepting donations from foreign millionaires and lobbyists looking to buy influence.

The same day “cash for access” becomes a criminal offence with actual consequences.
