What a great 3 days it’s been, showing my ceramics at Potfest Scotland alongside 98 other potters!

Over winter I developed a new ash glaze and made larger vessels, and I’m delighted that they’ve been well received and found new homes. Just the encouragement I’ve needed to know I’m on the right path

It’s been a looong week in the studio, but we finally made it to Friday - even if Stella has already nodded off…

Little sippers with their saucers, in my new woodash glaze that I’ve developed.
The wood is straight the forest outside my studio, that burned in my woodstove over the winter season. After quiet months of testing, it’s finally looking like lovely runny honey in this sunlight.

Lunch break in the garden.
I often wonder where the planes overhead are travelling to. This one’s cargo heading to the Faroe Islands

Dog on lap, eating breakfast down at the greenhouse, and the red squirrels are already there pottering about 🐿️

Thought they might have been upset at me clearing out the flowerbed for a refresh, but they’re just as curious.

This weeks been a hard one with my mental health. Really tough in fact, but thankfully, I think it’s finally turning a corner. Even managed a trip out to deliver my stock yesterday (pic) and chat with people.

I’m trying to remember to be kind to myself, as sometimes just showing up is enough

A wee walk with Stella to end the day.
8pm, sun just starting to set,
and still a warm 17°c
Loooovely!✌🏻x

- Lunch break in the garden -
The daffies are still looking good on the meadow slope, and this warm weather means the trees are finally starting to leaf up at last! 🙌🏻
It’s felt like such a long winter this year, so couldn’t have asked for a better spring

Right, that’s my desk job finished for the day (6.30am start), so now at 3pm I can finally get into the studio.
I’ve got a few shelves of work to get trimmed today before it dries out in this warm weather!😅

It’s a Sunday, so I’ve had a bit more time to russel up a chicken tagine, with squash, figs and chickpeas.
Beige but delicious!
In a handmade bowl of course…

Wishing all the Mothers out there, and those who have a mother role, a very happy Mother’s Day ✌🏻x

In the woods on the lookout for bears and fairies…

Saturday studio jobs done, so last thing is to walk Stella in the woods 🐾.
Then I can finally slide into something comfy, make a cocktail or two, and settle into the weekend.
We all made it to the weekend !🙌🏻

Morning all - just back from an early walk, and it’s a lovely start to the day here, quiet, crisp & fresh. How’s the day starting with you?
Ok, my belly’s growling - I’d better give it some breakfast!

As soon as I lie down, she jumps up, snuggles in and then starts snoring… Anyone else?

Taking a wee afternoon break for a walk (and stumble) down at the river. Not deep enough yet for a swim, as the snow melt high up in the mountains haven’t begun

My first post, and it’s a wee hello from Scotland!

I’m a potter working in stoneware, from my rural studio. A calm scenic place that inspires what I make at my wheel.
Part of the queer community too, and looking forward to making connections here ✌🏻x
