In The Life of a Showgirl, Taylor Swift is doing more to romanticize traditional marriage than the religious right has done in the last 4 decades combined. In this essay, I will…

I think it’s going to be awfully hard to make the case that a project that can’t lock down a private proponent is going to catalyze a lot of private investment.

"Our forecasts suggest that this new offering should drive growth next quarter of... uh, nine million percent?"

outside energy supplies, it’s critical to know how to use the least energy possible, and how to accurately gauge how loads will change over time. Climate change and energy efficiency are foundational considerations for operational readiness.

As a younger engineer I was initially surprised by the persistent presence of military folks in energy efficiency and climate change circles, but over time it became more clear - if you have a facility that has to keep running in all extreme conditions, or has to keep running when cut off from

I'd wager anyone in that room is more qualified to be Secretary of Defence, and better understands the threat multiplier implications of climate change. Security think tanks have been thinking about it since the 1970s, & the Pentagon formally since the 1990s.

I’m becoming more and more concerned that people at high levels of public discussion cannot identify the difference between a genuinely viral conversation vs a bunch of bots making noise.

“Bots or likely bots authored 44.5% of X posts mentioning Cracker Barrel in the 24 hours after the new logo gained attention on Aug. 20, according to research for ⁦‪@WSJ‬⁩ by PeakMetrics. That number rose to 49% among posts calling for a boycott.”
