Avowed (2025) rules for a lot of reasons, but the most important one is that it allows me to live out a crucial power fantasy: killing a skeleton wizard with a big gun.

When I realized the guy voicing Kai in Avowed is the same guy who voiced Garrus in Mass Effect, all I could wonder was if Kai knew how sweet our love was in another universe. Does he know how tenderly he held me as The Reapers’ grasp tightened, our adoration for one another shielding us from it all?
