It’s perplexing that the BBC is currently under scrutiny for a supposed liberal bias in favour of trans rights.
Here, a spokesperson for an anti-trans group is quoted, the article says that trans inclusion would be illegal (it wouldn’t) and lists an anti-trans organisation for more info.

Name your top 4 80s films.

If I could have those long flowing locks again, even if just for a day, I’d jump at the chance.
I came fairly close during lockdown.

Those 80s haircuts in #StrangerThings that people say are horrible?
I’ve had them all!
November 22, 2025 at 2:49 PM
How do you mean?
I do a little bit of sketching now and then (I’d like to do more).
And I do acting when I get the chance, like this Wednesday.
This is a miniature painting I did of Derek Jarman.

Yes, all present and correct.

#TransDayOfRemembrance
The intolerance and hostility directed at trans and gender diverse people carries a heavy toll, not just the terrible number who die violently each year, but also those whose lives are lost through self harm or from the lack of appropriate services.

A little, I grant you.
Arguably though I’m more like the kid in the Omen.

Me with my beloved, much missed, cat Domzee a year ago.
He had just been diagnosed with a tumour. At his great age (19 then) surgery was not an option.
I didn’t think that he was going to make it to Xmas 2024.
He went on to celebrate another birthday and remained a joy in my life until September.

Today is Jodie Foster’s birthday.
I’ve adored her since I was a pre-teen and she the star of Bugsy Malone and Taxi Driver.
She nervously chose to be public about her sexuality, in 2013, while accepting a lifetime achievement award.
It’s been lovely to see her grow in queer confidence and joy since.

Photos of a gaunt Rock Hudson sparked tabloid gossip, confirmed by his publicist in July 1985.
Rock Hudson had AIDS.
President Ronald Reagan first mentioned AIDS publicly in September, two months later.
By this time 24,000 Americans had died.
Rock died 15 days later.
November 17, 2025 at 5:35 PM
Rock Hudson was born on this day 100 years ago.
He was the epitome of the handsome, seemingly hetero, Hollywood star.
AIDS outed him and killed him.
He died in 1985, aged 59.
His death shocked the world. For many, he was the first person they knew of to die as a result of HIV.

Del Toro’s Frankenstein poses the question, what if both the doctor and his creature were insanely ripped?

Yup!

In the homophobic hostility of the mid 1980s, a photo booth offered some degree of privacy. Any public display of affection would have been too dangerous - and potentially illegal.

Damn! I still haven’t mastered the art of shaving.

Travelling up to Liverpool to ‘create content’ as they say.
More will be revealed soon. 💜

I was diagnosed with HIV in 1998, two years after effective treatment for HIV had been identified.
The medication was still very new.
I was told I could expect to live another 20 years, which at the time was more than had been granted to many of my friends.
HIV treatment works. Tell everyone.

This is a brag:
In August I had surgery for an injury which had prevented me from running for over a year.
Today I ran 10km in less than an hour.
I’m well chuffed.
