Watched #ComeFromAway last night, that tells the story of 'isolated' 7000 people . Couldn't help thinking that any gamers would have been fine.

Though I'd simplify the challenge system to Rock-Paper-Scissors

Difficult choice but I have to go for:
David Bowie (Power)
Eurythmics (Purity)
Chris Isaak (Showmanship)
Motörhead (Volume)
They Might Be Giants (Energy)

Played Rivers of London in the morning, Bushido in the afternoon, and then finished off with an hour of Bridge Command. All excellent, but the vendors were all packing up by the time I was free. The cheapest DM I’ve had in years 😢.

I was solidly gaming from 9 until 6:30 (except for a brief lunch break) when I had to dash. Would otherwise have loved to catch up. Glad you had a good time. Maybe next year.

I’m hardly a frequent attendee but the lure of three games that I’ve been wanting to play was too much.

One closing thing: If you are in software, and you ever get the chance to speak to someone who works on point of sale machines of any kind, you ABSOLUTELY SHOULD. They have to solve the weirdest problems with an incredibly constrained resource set for customers who deny that they exist.

I love my ear defenders, I love my daughter, & I'm proud of every adult & child who wears theirs. I hate the servile, authoritarian streak in the British character that believes school is for suffering & conformity, the hidebound, craven dogma that a better world is impossible.

I like both Toon and Paranoia but consider that they have to be played as dystopias with humour that’s created by circumstance, more Roger Rabbit/Running Man than Looney Tunes. Though I seem to be alone in that play style.

I'm obliged for the nod.

The "Penrose Effect" seems to be a real thing - hypothesised in the 1930s and re-tested in the last decade or so:

Where you reduce your inpatient psychiatric provision, you'll see a correlated rise within 10yrs in prisons of seriously mentally ill prisoners.
