I was in Canada curling last weekend. If you tell them you are headed to watch curling, they know you are of limited threat.

Best steak I've ever had came from a biker bar in Longview, Alberta. It was a lunch special. Think it cost $10 CAD

I have said this for a long time. Social Distortion was a gateway into Johnny Cash for me, and I contend there is far less space between punk and Johnny Cash than there is between modern country and Johnny Cash. Americana is absolutely steeped in punk, like Sturgill Simpson and Margo Price.

Come visit the lakes "Up Nort". Get a picture with Paul Bunyan. Walk across the Mississippi. Catch a walleye. Like one of us.

For me, the bright light is also key. Day after day of leaving in the dark and coming home in the dark, and never feeling the sun through layers of clothes, wears on the soul. It gets better already by late January, when you feel the days getting longer and the sun getting warmer.

And, in my world, the answer to "why it's shaped like that" usually has a lot more to do with someone forgetting to flip a switch than anything exciting or profound.

Crap. How long was I sleeping?

Maybe, just maybe, she is sensing that we are coming to the end of troll politics, and the nasty bombastic rhetoric is generating a backlash, so it's time to elevate the discourse? Even if you dont like her, if she is correct that this is the way the wind is starting to blow, it's very positive.

Moby Dick in my early 20s. I read it every few years when I feel the drizzly November in my soul and need to be reminded about accepting that which is uncontrollable.

Put another way, if you make a dollar a second, you will have over 31 million dollars in a year. And in a mere 15844 years, you can get to 500 billion and catch the rich guys.

Give them some grace. I have spent hours and hours fishing in places where i was neither catching nor expecting to catch fish, and found that there was no place in the world I would rather be.
