Semi-retired motorsport journalist, looking to get creative again. Or maybe I’ll just stick the kettle on and make another brew.
I was seven years old, just getting into F1 when McLaren last won the constructors championship. Today feels like such a full circle moment. I used to love seeing Hakkinen in that silver arrow. Now it’s Lando guiding the papaya bullet to more success. I love this sport so much. #F1 #McLaren

Hamilton’s recent decline on a Saturday is down to the heavy and lethargic nature of this era of Grand Prix cars. When they were much lighter and more agile, he was insanely fast. They’re too heavy, too cumbersome and feel like anti-formula one. Hopefully the ‘26 regs begin to fix this. #F1

K-Mag will be an absolute weapon in a sports car. He already proved himself in IMSA back in 2021. This is exactly what BMW need to vault themselves into contention for glory next year. #IMSA #WEC

The Grand Prix this weekend feels like a true changing of the guard. With the potential last race for Magnussen, Bottas and Perez, three major mainstays of the last decade could be bowing out. Hamilton and Sainz having their last races for their respective teams also. It feels like a big change. #F1

For the first time in a few years, I’m quite excited for the new Formula E season. New teams, more powerful cars, new drivers, and most importantly, it’s back on free-to-air telly. Hopefully this will bring the sport back into mainstream focus and enable continued growth. #FormulaE

It’s no coincidence that we’ve fallen into sporting oblivion since Mohammed Ben Sulayem took charge of the FIA. His stance on authority, as well as a lack of respect for drivers, teams and officials, is making thousands of longtime fans disillusioned with this once wonderful sport. Very sad. #F1

The inconsistent nature of penalties in Formula 1 are farcical. How can the most expensive sport on the planet not hire a group of dedicated stewards to govern 20 drivers and 10 teams for a whole season? It simply doesn’t make sense. #F1

That was Verstappen’s greatest championship, by a distance. Held that team on his shoulders for over half a season in the second, and then third fastest car. He’s definitely one of the greatest to ever lace a pair of race boots. 2025 will be tough, but if anyone can win a fifth, it’s him. #F1

I love the way Taka drives. Is he the most well rounded driver? No. Is he the outright best? No. But, he has the talent to do damage and rack up fast stage times. He’ll win a rally if he’s retained next year, mark my words. #WRC

Rewatching all the WEC races from this year and realising (already knew) it’s the best racing championship on the planet. All those manufacturers, my word. FIA, please take care of her. #WEC

After finishing runner-up in the championship five times, I would love to see Thierry Neuville finally claim his first WRC title this weekend. Regardless of who’s decided to do a part-time schedule or not, it doesn’t matter. He decided to stay, and would fully deserve it. #WRC
