Our IT lead Mike Jones (@mikej1971.bsky.social) has been hard at work developing a bespoke data-entry system which is now at final testing stage. We'll be using this to capture all our data moving forwards.

Introducing Professor Helen Fulton

Helen has long been intrigued by borders, who defines them, and how they operate in contexts of power. She aims to broaden her understanding of the March of Wales as a significant cultural & political border through texts & manuscripts from each side of the border
The image reads 'Meet the Mapping the March team, Principal Investigator Professor Helen Fulton'. The image includes a headshot of Helen against a blue background.

In the coming weeks, we will be introducing our team. This week, we would like to begin with our Administrator.

Abi has a background in History of Art and loves anything related to design. In this project, she hopes to expand her artistic horizons to include the medieval period.
Image says 'Meet the Mapping the March team. Project Administrator, Abi Freeman.' The image also shows Abi Freeman stood in front of the Gwili Steam Train in Carmarthen.

📍MapMonday! Over the past few weeks I have been mapping the historic parish boundaries in Denbighshire, as recorded on the OS 1st edition 6" mapping. Almost there - only a few more to go! This is the first step in mapping medieval lordships of the Welsh Marches - going backwards in time from here 🗃️
