Assume it will be more or less this

Hemmings looks like he will be in the squad

I'd have Bailey back at this rate if we could afford his wages.

One goal and two assists in 21 starts does beg some questions but can't say I know the fella

Money is clearly tight. If you're prioritising positions it's CF, RW and CB. So £35m on Elliott just doesn't make sense.
December 8, 2025 at 8:27 PM
They can't shift him in January. He's played for two teams already so he can't play for anyone else.
December 8, 2025 at 8:26 PM
If I'm Liverpool, Elliott isn't going to get into the team even w their poor form. And they can't loan him out this season. So I'd say you can have either those things but there's a ££ penalty. And we're going to time you out until 31 January because the evidence is you'll cough up eventually

Well. I like data in football. But this sounds like a load of old balls to me
December 8, 2025 at 12:41 PM
I just can't see how if you weight 70% xg you conclude we are 80% likely to get top five. If you weight results back to march heavily perhaps so

Anyway whilst not a data sceptic tbh I tend to agree their predicted table is probably less accurate than just doing a sensible prediction

I thought Ty was out till the new year?

Is Unai Emery the best manager pound for pound in the league? Since he joined, villa's net spend is zero compared to say half a £billion for chelsea. Over his 3 years villa have been the fourth best side points wise, by some distance. They have more home wins than any side in Europe in that period.

It was really good analysis I thought
December 7, 2025 at 10:31 PM
This is the big thing. It wasn't sustainable. We needed to start creating better chances. And we have (admittedly over two games). That's a big and very welcome shift.
December 7, 2025 at 10:27 PM
Do you know if opta base those calcs purely on results or also on underlying numbers? They do seem pretty high to me. Like 80% chance of top five. That doesn't feel right
December 7, 2025 at 10:26 PM
I'd rotate the hell out of Thursday myself
December 7, 2025 at 9:14 PM
Yes. In fact in turns of government levers it's probably the main one. Homes and lab space.
December 7, 2025 at 9:13 PM
Hmm. If housing is more plentiful don't you get a) more mobility b) more agglomeration benefits c) more disposable income d) lower housing benefit reducing tax burden and e) more employment in construction sector?

He's gone full Mariah Carey
December 7, 2025 at 11:50 AM
Hard agree. Just worry we can't really play him every game over the next couple of months
December 6, 2025 at 11:32 PM
Average temperature in dallas in July is 35 degrees...
December 6, 2025 at 6:08 PM
Largely agree but afraid that's a 6 or even a 5 for ollie. Kept bouncing off him. Thought Maatsen was good tho
December 6, 2025 at 2:49 PM
Agree. Although it doesn't have much competition!
December 6, 2025 at 7:01 AM
Thus is the same site who previously reported interest from bundesliga clubs. They're working out the rules very slowly and then making up stories to suit
December 4, 2025 at 11:11 PM
Well... We won't be selling him any time soon then!
