I am facing a similar issue as well. Just sent a package that weighs 0.5kg, and it's exceeded my budget. Couldn't believe how vast the changes are before the tariff and such. Even it affected my country's postal by using a 3rd party agent. Prices doubled!

And that's how a popup book is assembled. I'll repeat these steps until my batches are done. Thank you for reading.

Then I'll grab a plastic cover and slide the product in it for protect. And now it's ready to be ship or sold at an art market!

Now, onto the cover glue. I'd like to prefold the cover before glue. I'll use 3 binder clips to help me navigate it. Most of the time I got it right, other times I had to accept the defeat and the book may be slightly defected. (I kinda rushed for this video)

Next, I'll glue the other part of the pages. This will make an accordion binding. Slice out the excess pages (knife must be sharp!), one-by-one, and then glue to the cover. I don't slice the entire page together due to past experiences that the edge wouldn't look clean.

Once I had done enough, I'll take Page 1 & 2, arrange them, making sure it's aligned, with binder clip, and glue them [CRUCIAL STEP]. I'll use a large and heavy surface area book to seal the glue. Repeat this process until 10 pages are glued.

I start with the inside pages. I'll take 100 pages (10 pages per book), pre-fold, and then arrange the pages. Then, I start folding the pieces based on it's pages, and glue them on the page. I work my way until I reached the last page, and repeat the steps.

My book has 10 pages, 21 individual pieces, and 1 hardcover. This time the printer is nice to separate the pieces in single plastic bags, which surprised me.

After prototyping and printing methods are discussed and approved, get your printing materials through delivery or self pick-up. Why is this important? Because this is the time that was uncounted and unseen for during this process.
