Just wrapped up an 11-day workshop here in Scotland, photographing some awesome foliage, woodland, and castles. Here's a small collection of images I managed to edit from my 14-day adventure photographing fall color in Colorado a couple of weeks ago.

One of my favorite things to do in nature photography is to force the viewer to ask, "what the hell is that?!" Finding these things in nature is so much fun. Anyone else?

This was a memorable storm to witness. Back in 2022, I got a bad case of COVID in mid-August and over labor day, after I had healed up, I decided to test my lungs and climbed a low 13er near Telluride, Colorado. This was one of my many rewards, watching this storm dump rain below me.

Balanced rock, fleeting light, golden aspens below. This Colorado scene is featured in my upcoming book The Colorado Way, blending 140+ of my photos with essays on mountains, trails, and life lessons. My Kickstarter campaign opens Sept. 5 for backers — I’d love your support in bringing it to life!

Here's a handful of my favorite moments here in Colorado - a place I have a deep connection with. I'm looking forward to launching my Kickstarter for my new book, "The Colorado Way," in early September. It features 25 essays about my journey and fun psychology stuff.

Crazy sunset in the Smokies, captured back in April on my workshop. Funniest part - one of my students, standing next to me, had their SD card fill-up right when the light exploded. I removed my 2nd card and just gave it to her to use, no time to waste!

Here's a couple Infrared images I captured last week in some random area full of cool sand dunes in Utah using my full-spectrum IR converted Sony A7R4 (I think these are all 850nm).

Four takes on the same basic area throughout the course of 5 days using different compositions and conditions. Which one do you like more and why? In retrospect, I'd like a few that were less wide, but it's hard to convey the scale of these spires.

The view flying into the Cirque of the Unclimbables a couple of weeks ago... pretty epic. The pilot was serious and said, "sorry the light isn't very good!" LOL!

I’m thrilled to announce that my book, The Colorado Way, is launching soon on Kickstarter. This project has been years in the making. It is a personal collection of essays and photographs drawn from my 500-mile hike of the Colorado Trail and a lifetime of climbing Colorado’s 100 highest mountains.

In 2023, I hiked the entirety of the Colorado Trail. It took me 35 days and I climbed 30 mountains along the way. It was a transformative experience for me, and I'm in the process of finalizing a book which encapsulates it. This moment from the Trail was one of the most special of them all...

In 2024, I created a video which evaluated print labs based on a number of factors, which was a fun project to undertake.
I have received weekly emails from folks asking me questions about printing, prompting me to create a printing course to address the questions I receive. Interested?

Most images of this classic seascape are from afar using an ND filter, but I relished the opportunity to explore it at low tide, and what a treat it was! #landscapephotography

I just returned from a great workshop in Northern Norway, where we had some pretty fantastic aurora conditions. Always grateful when things line-up! Here's some timelapse footage I created while there.
