I don't know if it's because I recently became a father, but this version of the story hit particularly close to home.
GDT's Frankenstein is coming back to theaters beginning tomorrow for one week.

Going on another cosmic horror bender.

Some don't like the "indescribeable" thing, but I'm interested in humans finding the hard limit of what they can understand.

We define ourselves on our capacity to imagine, describe, make connections. What happens when that fails?

For writers, research is easier now than ever thanks to the internet.

But I can't stress enough how much more cool stuff you can find by just reading a book about the subject.

Not that you should only do the latter, but mix it up! Half the stuff going in my book I didn't look up, I found out.

If everyone on r/writing watched this, 95% of the posts would disappear.

Most of the advice is "write a lot, read a lot, think a lot" and "know what you like, accumulate experience.

Which makes sense but a lot of beginner writers are weirdly resistant to it.
