Grocery and housing costs remain high. In Virginia, many are losing their jobs (fed workers) or revenue (contractors) due to DOGE cuts.

Meanwhile, Virginia’s GOP leaders do nothing to push back on Trump. So, I’m stunned @bluevirginia.bsky.social that GOP candidates see this as a winning tagline:

The political stooge who gaveled the U.S. House into recess has the audacity to tell others: “Get back to work.”

Mike Johnson: "We said, 'don't sit on your couch and play video games'- by the way, also not a talking point. There was an AEI study, I think one of the organizations that polled this, and most of these young men who are not working are sitting around literally playing video games. Get back to work"

Historians, take note — America failed to win the Vietnam War because LBJ and Nixon were politically correct.
atrupar.com
Trump: "The problem with Vietnam, we, you know, we stopped fighting to win. We would've won easy. We would've won Afghanistan easy. We would've won every war easy. But we got politically correct. 'Oh, let's take it easy.' We're not politically correct anymore, just so you understand."

The explanation may be more complicated than that.

If I’m reading the tables correctly, lower-income whites were more likely to support Obama than they were to back Hillary Clinton. If racism is what “triggered” a realignment, wouldn’t we see more of it manifest when Obama was on the ballot?

It’s no accident that the descendants of the confederacy were able to warp the history of the civil war and eliminate the main reason for the war (slavery). It holds to the importance of making sure you don’t forget history. Just like January 6 was an attempt to overthrow the government not a tour.

The victors of the American Civil War failed to write their story into the history books, leaving a gap for the mythologizing of the Confederacy.

Vance is accusing someone else of oozing with contempt? Please.

Too many people are watching a cable news network that repeatedly tells them that Trump is fighting for them. It’s total BS, but as P.T. Barnum said, “There’s a sucker born every minute.”
mattriffs.bsky.social
If only we could transfuse that courage into some of our timid “just wait for my next press release” Democrats.

Trump will not be deterred by an 1866 law. He has ignored numerous laws, and the courts system raises its eyebrows and sighs. They are unable or unwilling to hold him accountable.

Hegseth is too busy lecturing military officers about their body weight to be aware of potential threats like this.

The presence of this phony journalist tells you just how much the White House has transformed the WH press corps into one that increasingly parrots its bullshit.

Wow, you typed THE in all caps — such passion!

Carol, I do wish that you and other anti-fluoride activists would spend more time reading peer-reviewed research/reports rather than relying on AI as your “evidence”.
mattriffs.bsky.social
This speaks volumes. Your anti-fluoride group chooses a single AI result over what the National Academies of Sciences says.
mattriffs.bsky.social
Don’t play dumb, Carol. That National Academies report shows that scientific experts have considered fluoride to be a dietary nutrient.
mattriffs.bsky.social
Ah, thanks for clarifying that.

This is part of the Trump regime’s war on journalism and the First Amendment.

1. More Americans work at the Cheesecake Factory than in the entire coal industry, and that won't change. It's because of automation, not snooty libs.

2. Coal energy is now more expensive than wind and solar.

3. So this means: higher energy prices, more pollution, no jobs benefit. Genius!
atrupar.com
Energy Secretary Chris Wright on Fox: "We're announcing today expanded programs to help the American coal industry. We're helping it because for years it has been under assault. It was out of fashion with the chardonnay set in San Francisco, Boulder, and NYC ... coal just makes the world go round."

And I believe the Dodgers played there for a year or two before Dodger Stadium was built.

First, Brazil and now France — two democracies that actually believe in holding ex-leaders accountable.

By contrast, Trump inspired a coup attempt that barely drew a sigh from our court system. Trump suspected correctly that SCOTUS would cover for him.

What a shameful contrast.

Just when you think Trump can’t embarrass America any worse than he already has, he proves that he can.

Trump to the UN: "I'm really good at this stuff. Your countries are going to hell."
