LOL. Again, a huge stretch, going out of your way to blame this team's laundry list of problems on one guy. Caleb is not in charge of the defense, and what evidence do you have that he doesn't work hard aside from the fact that you just don't like him?

I know "it's all Caleb's fault" is a trendy sentiment, but blaming the QB for the D playing poorly is a stretch, at best.

How can you pass up the chance to sign a guy who's both a scumbag AND totally worthless as a baseball player? Seriously, I have no idea what Getz is thinking. People want to like him for some of his front office hires, but his record on major league player personnel is littered with unforced errors.

Well if he's not ready for the big leagues yet, then it seems like Getz f'ed up by having him up on two separate occasions last season.

Why is his audition more important than that of Ramos or any other option they might have? If it's because of the trade, then we're falling victim to the sunk cost fallacy.

I am not at all worried about losing Miguel Vargas for nothing on waivers. If he doesn't prove he's good enough for this putrid team, then let him go. Guys who have a natural position of DH who haven't proven anything at age 25 are not guys we should be clinging to.

Ramos “didn’t exactly kill it” and still had a wRC+ like 20 points higher than that of Vargas. I get the Sox will be bad, but to play Vargas simply because of what they gave up to get him or his unrealized prospect pedigree seems misguided.
