Is the goal of those who are in control (the wealthy ruling class or someone else?) to cause the bottom 98% of us to be divided and fight each other just so the wealthy and powerful can be more wealthy and powerful?

Maybe we can even get stuck in this pattern of thinking with our “lizard brain”? What about group think? Does that play a role too, and if so, can you explain? What about the end game for those doing all the influencing? …
