I was in a “gifted” program since 5th grade and loved studying and doing projects. went to a “lab” school where we wrote research papers, having to turn in notes and drafts before the final. went to college where students who had never done a paper they hadn’t written the night before to get an A.

My favorite Star Trek novel is The Final Reflection by. John M Ford and it is a total break from what is now canon and I’m okay with that. Also love the here come the brides segue

I’m an original OG Trekkie saw TOS in its original broadcast, have the cereal bowl to prove it. In college TOS was in the dorm TV room at 5pm each day. Now watching Academy and loving it. Also catching up on Discovery. I have questions.

I cancelled the NYT years ago. Tried other papers Boston Globe and Philadelphia Inquirer. recently subscribed to the Minnesota Star Tribune for a year to support them. I guess my source of mainstream news now is the Guardian which I have a recurring contribution

I’m old enough to have been an adult when DHS was created. Before that the term “homeland” was not usual and to me it sounded too much like “fatherland” and unfortunately my prescience was accurate.
