Eight protesters detained during the February 2 demonstration near Tbilisi Mall now face criminal charges, as their case has been reclassified from an administrative offense. GD started applying the hardened law it adopted specifically to counter that protest.

With #HumanRights under serious pressure in #Georgia, it was even more important for the 🇳🇱Embassy to award our Tulip 🌷 award for human rights defenders. Winner Nestan Ananidze, who does tremendous work with women and minorities in Ajara: ‘the award supports all Georgians fighting for their rights’.
