I never regret having the Gamecube as my primary childhood console.

Only Season 3 was good, and maybe Adventure adaptations, but the rest are ok, though I loved the anime as a kid.

What about other third-party titles?

You should start an online retro gaming themed fitness program.

You forgot one other factor was the rise of Yu-Gi-Oh, which had a much better story and a darker tone, which was one of the biggest reasons I drifted away from Pokémon.

In my early formative years, I often played the Snes more than the N64 because not only I did had a larger library than the N64, but the games are so much fun from Donkey Kong Country to Super Mario All-Stars.

I still despise the 2010s.

All it took was Melee at EVO in 2013, along with The Smash Brothers documentary film, and then the Gamecube exploded in popularity.

I also remember that South Park episode Chinpokemon that, of course, parodied the Pokemania craze.

It's NES Silver Surfer but stars an adorable two tailed fox.

Do you remember this? The character countdown fiasco?

It was the worst marketing gimmick of all time for me, not to mention insulting for anyone who loved those characters.

That's awesome! Congratulations on getting a rare collectible of my favorite fictional character!

Why did those PS2 platformers never hit it for you?

7th gen was a solid generation, and I would say the last hurrah for the golden era that started with the Snes and Genesis. After that was nothing but Sonic 06 level slop from AAA developers, though there's a few good ones, just not that much. These days, I mainly play indie titles and retro titles.

What Sega's approach to game design do you mean?
May 16, 2025 at 4:00 PM
I don't blame ya. I also personally want more smaller but experimental Sonic games like we got back in the GBA and DS era like a spiritual successor to Sonic Battle and a second attempt at a JRPG only this time it borrows the action commands from Mario.

Do you remember the Sonic Central website?

PSP was the closest to beating Nintendo.

Game Gear shot itself focusing on color when it could of just use portable arcade experience as a selling point alone and just have the battery last long enough.

Please do a retrospective of the GBA! It's the most significant handheld console because of how it saved 2D games from going extinct, which eventually pave the way for the renaissance of 2D games headed primarily by indie developers.

Happy birthday!
May 7, 2025 at 7:14 PM
What year was this taken on?
May 6, 2025 at 12:54 PM
But why did the backlash against the Adventure games die down other than the fact that Adventure era kids like myself simply grew up and became vocal about it?
