Rassie Erasmus says he’d have made less changes to his team if they’d won on Saturday. Quite a telling statement, isn’t it?

I always enjoy the week of leading up to the Springbok Test at Ellis Park each year. Much as I enjoy games in Bloem, Mbombela and Gqeberha, there’s something different about it here, it’s a little less festive. It’s a little more intense. Sometimes feels like I’m gonna play too 😅.

I often think about the other side of professional sport. The lower divisions. Where there’s often more players on the field than spectators in the stands. It can be unenviable at times & I reckon it must get hard to keep going when there’s no one to cheer for 90% of your season.

I say it often that Riveiro has a good thing going at Pirates. You see it in how hard the players work and how genuinely happy they are around each other. I enjoyed how relentless they were even with their huge lead. And at their best, there isn’t a better team to watch.

I was at the press conference where Sundowns announced Miguel Cardoso as their new coach. He did his best to be charming with everyone in the room and said all the right things. However, I’m a little skeptical.

I think his appointment will make the title race closer than it’s been in a while.

Also, I was today years old when I realised why Franco Mostert is most probably called Sous 🤦🏽‍♂️.

One of my favourite things about summer.

This is actually my first time watching a game at Centurion.
