Gotta take a break from Writing the Thing to Write the Different Thing, which I will inevitably take a break from by Writing the Thing.

I think that's what makes Hallmark Christmas Movies (as a genre) entertaining, even if they're not "high art".

Watching "Christmas Alpaca Farm", a friend of mine pointed out how good some of the performances are because of how straight people deliver the most ham-fisted lines. It's fun!

Great for the people that could relate, but not really what I personally look for in comics.

I encountered this when I was a heavy Instagram user. Comics I followed because they had one or two “general appeal” pieces ended up being straightforward slice of life comics without much humor. Unless I heavily related to the life being sliced, I would just unsubscribe.
