Congratulations to Noemi Destefani for her best presentations award at the Biological Macromolecules meeting of the Italian Crystallographic Association! Her work in our lab on the BCR signalling in CLL is building a nice story with new perspectives for personalized therapies. Way to go!

A great morning with the PhD theses discussion committee. Happy to see some promising young scientists taking off towards bright careers. And some very interesting work from my colleague’s lab @ostunilab.bsky.social I wasn’t aware of 😅

Wow, it did not take long for the usual fake/scamming accounts to start proliferating…

Holiday season carries the bonus of meeting with old friends and having some good #friulian #food at a typical restaurant, “La di Muk”. Last dining out for a while, I promise!! 😅

C’mon, 2025, be a nice fellow. Here, I made some lasagna for you…!

Nice present for the holiday season: all four reviewers liked our manuscript. Of course, we just need to do that one experiment which will take roughly four months to complete… 😅

We have manuscript out for peer review for 52 days (and counting). I wonder if it’s done on purpose, allowing it to age like sone fine red wine to let additional flavors (results?) to develop… #frustration

Sometimes I feel like I am neither here nor there… oh wait, I am just waiting for the editor’s decision on our paper on chronic lymphocytic leukemia!

Sure, my brain agrees that spaying the female dog is the right thing to do to lower her risk of cancer. But right now I need a stiff drink to sustain her gaze… 😢 sorry, Holly!

Not the greatest #Sunday, between house cleaning and work that could not wait until Monday. Dinner by myself, but at least a colorful one while waiting for the #49ers game. The #wine, a wannabe-Traminer, wasn’t convincing.

If you are traveling near Modena in Italy, make sure to stop in Maranello and check out the incredible food at Trattoria La Fontana. Definitely in the top three of my beloved places, also because of the friendly personnel. Always a pleasure, looking forward to the next visit!!
