@nettings NFSv4 made a huge difference when it was introduced. I'm getting network transfer speed of over 100MB/s to an NFS mount. Before this was less than 2 MB/s with the same network setup. Apparently the NAS was swapping all the time and couldn't do its basic jobs of just serving files. I should have done this upgrade years ago ...

I'm in tears... my old #Synology DS416play is bloody fast after I've upgraded the RAM from the default 1GB to 8GB. The web interface now loads snappy while it almost wasn't loading at all before.

TIL: Apple has enhanced the built in calculator app massively with conversions of all sorts and advanced calculator and math functionality. I never noticed this before. When was that introduced?
