Talk to me about fighting games, giant robots, and craft sodas
Machinist uses guns which DO NOT CARE ABOUT STATS giving Penelo a source of damage at range that doesn’t consume MP. Is the the best damage dealer in my party? No, she’s the healer. But giving her access to guns gives her a secondary skill complementary to her primary job. It’s so crunchy I love it

The 2 class limit also applies a pressure to specialize your party members(or to use a corporate term, make them T-shaped):
For example: in my game I’m using Penelo as a white mage because i want a healer in my party, Penelo has lower than average strength so I gave her the second job Machinist

If you wanted you could make everyone a time mage, I saw someone on YouTube do it even! And since each class plays so differently from the others this system encourages exploration and experimentation because you can respec for free at the hunters guild!!

combinatory optimization problems like this. Each character has different stats and starting abilities and while none are ‘bad’ in any given class they clearly do better in some than in others. This screams high replayability to me because of the sheer volume of real choices this system gives you

I’m playing the Zodiac Age remake that makes a major change from the original from what I understand. This is the License Board. In Zodiac Age you get a maximum of two of these licenses(read classes) per character. This is such a cool system to me. I’m a sucker for
