At the tenth anniversary of the doulas who helped us with kiddo being born. Hard to overstate how helpful they were. I wish more people knew what doulas do and could take advantage of the option.

It's official, I passed 1K hours in Stardew this week!
So next week is a big deal for me, for a few reasons. One of those is that it's the first anniversary of me starting streaming!

I've really enjoyed playing Death's Door. So much that I've streamed my second playthrough on Twitch.
I've also taken to exporting the streams to YT so I have a copy. And I gotta say, this game, in particular, really lends itself to thumbnails. 😄

Spent the weekend down at Lake Cumberland, playing games with friends at the lodge lounge. It was good; first time I've travelled solo in a couple of years. A bit wet, but glad to see folks.

Just got my print copy of @zachweinersmith.bsky.social 's The Universe: Abridged Beyond the Point of Usefulness. Have to say, the book looks very nice. And the intro reads like something Douglas Adams would have approved of.

No real surprises here. Those achievements are a little goofed though...over half of them are because I finally imported my web save of Cookie Clicker over to the Steam version.
But almost half of my playtime being Stardew, and the biggest months being March and April are entirely expected.

It's always a little wild to have thunderstorms in December. Yard is completely filled with leaves again, but our stubborn pin oak is still holding on to as many as it can.

I just started streaming in September and it's been a very rewarding experience. I really appreciate everyone who's helped make streams fun for folks and I look forward to getting to goof off with everyone more next year.

I had to look up the name, but the very first thing I remember watching was The Daily Drop, then Unskippable. And then I found out you all did full on sketch comedy and I was hooked.

So with the big uptick of people joining over here, combined with _gestures_, I found myself starting to doomscroll again for the first time in a few years.
Feeds help me a lot when that starts happening. You can pin feeds that you want to check regularly...I pick ones that help me recenter.

I thought it was interesting to see these two posts right next to each other. I don't pretend to know the answer. Would the Twitch or YouTube model (subs/members plus ads) scale? But a lot of CCs seem to depend more on Patreon..but whales don't seem any better than ads at scale...

Just to second this. I have friends who got relatively lucky but are still waiting for infrastructure to get restored. They just sent a picture of going to get water from a portable filter station.
