This is reprehensible.

Was talking to someone from another state yesterday who couldn’t believe it but yes, Ohio law not only requires public school buses to transport kids to private schools, it actually *prioritizes* public bussing for private school students over public school students. Total insanity.

Fact is that tech and media billionaires and the political establishments are financially incentivized to keep this nation divided, and they do so with algorithms and anger-reinforced echo chambers.

Pennsylvania Republicans are aiming to erase Democrats' majority on the state supreme court in November.

But this sort of push has virtually no precedent or template in this state, making a weird campaign where everyone is trying to find their mark.

A great new read:

Inside the Clunky Elections to Control Pennsylvania's Supreme Court - Bolts
The GOP is making an expensive push to end Democrats’ majority on a court at the center of election lawsuits, sparking a fledging campaign season with little precedent or template.

I doubt Jack Smith is engaged in the West Wing coverup of the Epstein files and considering pardoning a convicted sex-trafficker but ok.

It’s getting crowed over in Bari Weiss-Murdoch-Newsmax land. Is it going to be a competition to see who can best kiss Dear Leader’s FCC ass?

The U.S. armed forces may soon face the choice of whether to refuse illegal and unconstitutional orders, @radiofreetom.bsky.social writes. What will they do?

Weiss "lucked" into being a tool funded by thin-skinned, greedy billionaire tech bros. That's the underlying and overarching journalism story at the core of all of this, and it's one she will never allow to be covered. Put whatever icing you want on it, that's the truth shitcake underneath.

The CBS employees who are in this “wait and see” mode re Bari Weiss running the news—wait to see what? I mean, this started with billionaire Trumper-owners paying Trump—selling out journalism—$16 million and now installed an opinion-writer pal of billionaires to boss around actual journalists.

So, there’s a lot going on, but seems worth spending some time on the fact that this president of the United States is considering pardoning a convicted child sex-trafficker. And his party leadership says and does nothing in response. It’s a whatever shoulder-shrug.

That’s where we are.

Trump on pardoning Ghislaine Maxwell: Haven't heard the name in so long. I’ll take a look at it. I’ll speak to the DOJ. A lot of people have asked me for pardons.

Reporter: But she’s convicted of sex trafficking

Trump: I’ll have to take a look at it.

Journalist Edward R. Murrow used his platform on CBS to criticize the witch hunts led by Senator Joseph McCarthy in the 1950s.

This is what real journalism should do — hold power to account, not capitulate to it.

“Who are we talking about?” He asks, knowing damn well who we are talking about. Buys himself time because he knows the significance of this question. Says he *has* to take a look at it. … I mean, so much bullshit. Does NOT say — *No. She’s a convicted sex-trafficker and the Court has ruled.*

BREAKING: Today, we're suing. Federal forces in the Chicago area are brutally suppressing free speech with tear gas, rubber bullets, and flash grenades. Journalists, clergy, and demonstrators have been attacked for peacefully protesting against the government. This is an unconstitutional assault.

What’s the word to describe when a criminal fraud rises to power to lead the government by saying you cannot trust government and once in power of the government does everything he can to decimate any and all trust in government?

Republicans continue to postpone the swearing-in of Adelita Grijalva, the newest Democrat elected to Congress, for a sixth day.

Her day one promise is to be the tie-breaking vote to release the Epstein files.

(1/2) It's quite a phenomenon that a 79-year-old man struggling with speech and gait, can tell an audience that prices are down when they're up, that tariffs make other countries pay which they don't, that he has solved wars he hasn't, over and over again, and it gets reported as sane utterances.
