Far better, I think I liked this more than the trial. Hard to say but I think Kafka, like Sherwood Anderson wasn’t really equipped to write novels. I wish he lived long enough to be inspired by portrait of an artist as a young man.

Started off the year mid :/ this was described as “an intro to bukowski” and I agree in the sense that all his other work I like more. I think my problem is this lacks any of the great characters or settings that his other books do. Still worth the read
