maybe I'm wrong but it feels like imposing term limits wouldn't really achieve this since many (most?) of these politicians would have other offices in mind and would still need to be in good graces with the party

My other proposal with my advisor went through so it's not even a problem and maybe even a convenience for me, but it's still funny because I had been so often told that it was not something that ever happened to anyone.

As a partisan Dem I really hated talk about "adults in the room" during the first term but the second term makes it obvious they were doing a lot. I think people generally voted for adults in the room Trump and now are disliking material consequences of his unrestrained rule
