Only reason I go on there is because some people I follow don’t use other social media, journalists and activists and whatnot. I often have to search for them or sift through heaps of junk before they come up.

Tons of unchecked mis and disinformation. Tons of accounts that are clearly fake/AI. Ever since I joined I have to delete a new batch of bots that followed me out of nowhere. I have maybe 3 followers who are real lol.

I will ALSO say however that I’m noticing there seems to be a particular crowd that shall we say sees Bluesky as the Canada to Threads’ America, so there’s that🙃

I will say, I’m not even minding Threads… yet. Among all the others. I got X like a year ago and oh boy.
My threads feed has connected me to people I actually wanna hear, but also shoves a lot of junk in my face, kinda why I’m interested in the whole algo thing over here. Only time will tell.

I feel like they’re all in the same dumpster fire, but perhaps this one is perched up high, maybe tucked under the seam of an old Kevlar jacket no one wanted anymore.
