I would have loved Hoffman too, but it was fun to see Busch (a natural Margo) play against type (and not in drag)!

The reading was starry fun & I enjoyed the cast’s fresh takes (Cameron suggested Jean Arthur as Margo; Scar Jo was Gertrude Slojinski through and through; Baldwin’s DeWitt a cousin of Ward McAllister). I stayed for the talkback hosted by @davekarger.bsky.social, with Kenneth Lonergan joining in.

Offstage is enjoyable but insufficient, agreed!

Gerard Alessandrini is brilliant.

I would have been Manny or Maury for Betty Comden.

It was the sixth and last season of FAME; Hans and I were invited in to pitch. One of our stories was a "42nd Street" homage; we almost didn't pitch it, because we figured they MUST've already done something like it already. But they hadn't, and they bought it! (And shot it!)

Grateful to be seeing abundant theater during my sabbatical, but I’m still looking to let this one go due to a scheduling conflict.
