Movie: The Woman in the Yard
Year: 2025

a tough watch. becomes confusing but the topic is intriguing. it’s definitely not scary though so points off there. just not a well polished film. gonna need a bonus film tonight.

Movie: Heretic

omg hugh grant is terrifying in this film. it is so very jarring. religious horror films always make me uneasy but this one subverts it in a way by having a conversation on what’s real and what’s not.

BONUS:

Movie: Drop
Year: 2025

not a spooky movie but i like to count thrillers too! it was fun but predictable. called it pretty early on. but it was cute.

Movie: Misery
Year: 1990

this movie is so screwy! and also one of the first times you see what a para social relationship with a celeb could do to the psyche of a regular person. a reminder that famous people owe us nothing ever.

kathy deserves the world. she’s so good in this.

Movie: The Thing
Year: 1982

the movie that made me fall in love with body horror in film. the practical effects hols up till this day and it’s so horrifying. the idea that anyone around you could be an alien not of here. big yikes.

Movie: The Substance
Year: 2024

Oh. My. Goodness.

i understand all the hype. what a film. i came away with so many things but most important: love yourself enough to never think of doing what elisabeth did. the pressure women put on themselves to look good all the time. sigh.

Movie: Tremors
Year: 1990

it’s fun. it’s campy. it’s bacon! i love this one but it is just so silly and so unbelievable to me lol but who knows anymore.

it’s a fun couple of hours of life.

Movie: Final Destination
Year: 2000

a cultural shift. a horror movie reset. the idea that death could come after you for not dying when you were supposed to? horrifying. knowing your number is up? scary. what a concept.

love this one so much.

whoa. just finished this incredible film. wow. just wow. visually stunning. those camera angles were nuts and the story. those poor kids.

exceptional.

Movie: Companion

I know it’s not horror really but enough ppl get unalived for me to think it is. love never looked so cringe. the story was solid but dragged by the end. still sophie stole the show.

Movie: Thirteen Ghosts
Year: 2001

it’s a sleeper hit for me. a lot of people hated this one back in the day. i love it. i love how much i care about these people and their heartache. the ending is a wonderful ode to love and marriage.

Movie: Friday the 13th Part II
Year: 1981

hello jason! we finally meet the kid that mommy was so crazed about in the first film. he’s just as nuts! go figure. it’s a whole different pace for me and a true slasher. it’s ok. not perfect.

Movie: Jennifer’s Body

Diablo Cody did a wonderful job with this one. it’s become a bit of a cult favorite but yea it all reigns true. men are trash. hell is a teenage girl and high school sucks.

love it.

Movie: Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan

now why does jason only take manhattan in the last half hour? why are we on a boat for most of this? lol it’s hilarious and as a native not scary at all. we see ppl like jason everyday.

Movie: Jeepers Creepers

this one’s a great one. great story and a original monster to boot. justin long makes some of the poorest decisions in this film and his character pays for it in the end. so so good.

Movie: Final Destination Bloodlines
Year: 2025

a really good entry into the franchise and a bittersweet goodbye to one tony todd. it’s got its faults and the acting sometimes is blah but it’s well rounded and finishes strong.

Movie: Child’s Play

who would think that a doll could cause this much chaos!? it’s a classic for a reason. it’s absurd and many times i laugh a time but it’s a good time always.
