I don't think it's outrageous enough for IIED. I guess it depends if Virginia has a pretty open ended negligent IED claim or if it's available only for specific types of actions.

This would be an interesting tort class hypo. What are the claims? False imprisonment for sure. You probably try negligent hiring/retention/entrustment. Anything else?

It was an interesting way to learn that French people couldn't really tell which Germanic-ish accent I had in French. They knew it was bad but they didn't know if it was German, Dutch or English.

I must look very European because they mostly try to talk to me in French and then when they hear my mangled response they say something like "ah, of course. Dutch."

Obviously I'm not saying "all women are like X and all men are like Y" but there are some difficult to ignore differences when you look at the behavior in the aggregate.

It's interesting how gender manifests in the apps. I read r/Tinder and it's not uncommon for bi women to complain that they match with lots of men but few women, and the answer from other bi women is it's just really really hard to get matches with women, gay or straight.

I do think women are more likely to use the apps like this - ego validation or idle time killing - than men. Even if the fuckbois don't want something serious they still generally want to meet.

That's interesting. My mom is definitely the kind of person who talks a lot about global warming and will pay lip service to animal rights but totally refuses to sub Impossible for ground beef because Impossible is "processed." But I figured she was more of an outlier.
