Our greatest asset is our people.

The people who were born and raised here and those who moved to DC for school or work and then built their lives here.

So, as the federal footprint changes in our city, we’re changing with it.

Picking up trash and debris is part of keeping DC clean and beautiful—but that's not all it takes.

DPW teams are experts at graffiti clean-up, street and alley cleaning, public trash can service, and, of course, recycling and trash collection. Reminder: DC Gov is open.

It's always a good time to support DC businesses.

The federal government shutdown means that many businesses in our city that typically rely on federal worker activity could use extra support.

So, stop by a local business, visit a DC restaurant, and help us spread the word: DC is open!
mayorbowser.dc.gov
We know the federal shutdown causes uncertainty for many DC residents and workers.

But one thing is certain: DC Government is open.

Trash will be collected, neighborhoods cleaned, schools open—all the great things DC Gov does to keep DC safe and clean will continue.
mayorbowser.dc.gov
A federal government shutdown will not shut down the DC Government.

DC will remain open, our students will be in class, parks will be clean, streets will be safe, trash will be picked up, and we will continue to function as a world-class city no matter what happens in Congress.
