I just watched the leaked 60 Minutes segment on Cecot Prison. It’s very clear why the Trump administration didn’t want anyone to see it. I hope that cancelling the video will have the exact opposite effect that they were hoping for and result in many more viewers.

I am reading many posts that tell me Trump is losing power and the GOP is in chaos. But every time I read the news he won again in the Supreme Court, states are redrawing their electoral maps, Hegseth blew up another boat! I am becoming very disillusioned. There’s no hope.

On a personal note, last week I underwent emergency surgery. One week in hospital. Scary and painful but succesful, all at no cost. I am beyond thankful that I live in Canada.

Trump’s deals with Japan and the UK are more proof that the USA needs more money. They have promised to invest billions into America. Most of this money is going to be in loans and loan guarantees. More debt for the USA and no investment into the economy.

There have been many articles and much detailed analysis of the Trump tariffs. I wonder if the answer is simply that the USA desperately needed a new income stream. Sales taxes are controlled by the states. Americans would never accept a federal VAT like many countries.

If Trump really wanted to help working class people he’d raise the minimum wage. If his buddies at Amazon, Walmart, and McDonalds paid their employees a decent wage instead of accumulating obscene wealth we wouldn’t have a problem. Unemployment is not the problem at 6%.
