:-) Yes, for every rule there is the exception like the rule of thirds…..It is fine to break them regularly but doing it with purpose is what makes for great storytelling.

As we pass the 7th floor thinking in hopeful optimism, “so far so good,” we were shot by the Robert’s Court with the Immunity decision. I certainly am not waiting around to hear any regrets from him like when Justice Sandra Day O’Conner said she regretted her vote to stop the count in Bush v Gore.

And for a street photographer, ADHD can perhaps be an advantage as long as you remember to push the trigger before you move on to spotting the next moment you espy. People with too much focus on their own mission miss so much as they walk the streets.

I prefer color unless going for abstract effect. For “documentary” style shooting (like protests and travel), I prefer color for two reasons. It offers more detail, for background elements that lend to the composition. Shadows are difficult to keep crisp in shots with a lot of foreground detail.

Yes, it has been a steady march to collapse, but Citizen’s United, and the case undoing the Voting Right’s Act, were seminal in my mind. That started the fall out of the 15th floor window.
