Left-wing Right Back.
I agree we need to create more/better chances.Im just not convinced a formation change in a season where were trying to adapt2a different style of striker will make things better. Or that Howe hasnt looked@it in training&decided it doesnt work.As always, the things that fans dont see are without flaw

Same as calls to abandon the 433. For some, any other formation will produce better results.

On mach days my #NUFC feed regularly runs about 3 hours behind for some reason. Non match days is fine.

I was really disappointed that risky pass got such a groan. The lady's still learning, we should want him to try those passes occasionally. No one was complaining when he played an unexpected pass to Isak for his first PL assist.

We do, the future's bright even if the present is a bit wobbly.
Howe isn't perfect & is still learning to deal w/ 2 game weeks, some players won't fit new style but take a while to leave due PSR.
But, club has backroom sorted🤞. Howe will work hard to learn. New players will come & improve the squad.

I'm fine with it. Still believe there's a player in there and he'll come good at some point. If it's not today bring him off and his replacement will have a point to prove.

Did that in a pub in Co Durham years back, we lost. It was not fun.

Dan Burn will play left back again this season as Hall has no other back up.

Maybe as much - if not more - Everton dropping off as us stepping up as when we've conceded 3 on the last two PL away games I'm not sure we had a right to gain that much confidence from the second!
November 29, 2025 at 6:34 PM
I hope it lasts and isn't a one off, we need to get this season back on track.

Benfica have a pink 2nd/3rd shirt every 3 or 4 seasons. Massively increases sales to their female fans. It's a no brainer really from a commercial stand point.
November 24, 2025 at 10:34 PM
I don't think they will. Sky put the rule up and the important part of it was the "unless the force is negligible". I think with the way Keane's head moved with the slap, it'd be hard to argue the force was negligible.

No, the sleeve is irrelevant. It's a line drawn across from the armpit to the outside of the arm. The confusion comes from this "non-handball" area being one colour and the rest of the arm being another in the rules/guidance diagram that made it look like a football shirt, and thus a "sleeve line".

"city could expose our midfield frailties" - completely agree with this. Though I'm not convinced the solution is solely a formation change. As long as one is part of a EH masterplan that leads to us at least competing today, I'll be happy. Wouldn't be surprised if I'm in a minority there though!
November 22, 2025 at 11:31 AM
Our 433 has always struggled vs teams that play with 10s due to the gap between our defence and flat midfield 5. Option we've seen before is 541 with the CBs free to follow their man into midfield. 4231 would also help solve this, but radically changes our patterns. Is it wise to experiment vs City?

I've been muting anyone that consistently displays a lack of ability for nuanced thinking. The hashtag is quieter but definitely better.
November 15, 2025 at 12:27 PM
There's a lot of "if only Howe would do X thing we'd be better" on here. Whether it's (not fully fit) Hall for Burn; Ramsey for Joelington; Ramsdale for Pope; some alt combination of wingers; or an alt formation.
That there's a really simple quick fix to this that Howe just won't do is absurd.
November 10, 2025 at 8:40 AM
You keep implying I'm saying something other than I am.
I'm not saying the lack of change was right, I'm saying you can't factually say changing things would definitely have been better.
November 10, 2025 at 8:31 AM
I'm saying we'll never know, so "not changing things" can't be used as the definitive argument for why we lost.
November 10, 2025 at 8:06 AM
So because we can't really conclude anything as we don't have the full picture. It comes down to whether we trust that Howe is trying and has the ability to turn this around.
Seeing as there was a tricky period last season that led to rumblings of "Howe out" before CC & 5TH, my answer would be yes.
November 10, 2025 at 7:15 AM
The fact that we can't prove a counter-factual makes both sides of this a bit hypothetical, but: Firstly, change doesn't mean better, it could mean worse - look at Liverpool. Also, we don't know what's happening in training, maybe none of the non-starters are performing well enough to be considered.
November 10, 2025 at 7:12 AM
Agreed. Playing with only one fit PL level striker that completely changed the way we need to play while having little time on the training pitch due to the sheer number of games this season. Then add injured fullbacks & illness. Not surprising there's been some poor performances.
November 9, 2025 at 11:49 AM
Agree with this. It's a necessary step in our evolution, but it comes with growing pains.
