Just listened, and as a fan of the Vicious and Shades of Magic series, very excited to read Bury Our Bones ASAP. Also, weirdly, just watched Heretic for the first time a few days ago, and I agreed 100% with you both about it - outstanding first hour, then takes a dive into overplayed tropes.

Totally agree. A great viewing experience, with a note of hope at the end that is so welcome right now.

Now finished. Very tough going, mainly due to sexual violence, but there are plenty of other trigger points too (e.g. transphobia, anti-Semitism). But it's not supposed to be a comfortable ride, it's a painful examination of many contemporary horrors. I won't read it again, but glad I pushed through
