Has anyone written on historians of philosophy's propensity to write in present tense about historical philosophical theories? There is some sort of Platonic assumption about the atemporality of the conceptual systems we are engaging with, right?

I really enjoyed this email. If the first things you say are that people won’t be replaced by AI and that we can use it responsibly and ethically, then I’m pretty sure people will be replaced and it will be used irresponsibly and unethically.

UGH the Institute for the Unity of Science had a relationship with both the American Academy of Arts and Sciences as well as the American Association for the Advancement of Science. We cannot have one organization with separate relationships with distinct AAAS's. 😠
