Thing is, the NAV of the gated vehicle is presumably also overstated, so all this is really doing is crystallising that valuation gap which would have been realised at some point anyway. To be converted into a more liquid instrument therefore doesn't seem so bad to me?

I've been shown many of these syndicated loans. Margins are wildly unattractive (lm 200s) for the risk.
