Adolf Hitler's regime famously advertised its rule with the tagline, "One People, One Realm, One Leader." Three days after Renee Good's killing, Trump's Department of Labor tweeted, "One Homeland. One People. One Heritage. Remember who you are, American." On January 9, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) posted, "We'll have our home again," a lyric from an anthem adopted by the neo-fascist group The Proud Boys and other white nationalist organizations. This was accompanied by a link where one could sign up to join ICE. Last August, DHS shared an ICE recruitment poster beneath the phrase, "Which way, American man?" - an apparent reference to the white supremacist tract, "Which Way, Western Man?", which argues that "Race consciousness, and discrimination on the basis of race, are absolutely essential to any race's survival. ... That is why the Jews are so fiercely for it for themselves...and fiercely against it for us, because we are their intended victim." In October, the US Border Patrol posted a video on its Facebook page of agents loading guns and driving through the desert, as a 13-second clip of Michael Jackson's song "They Don't Care About Us" plays - specifically, the lines "Jew me, sue me, everybody do me, kick me, k"ke me."

Third Way, in a memo to Democrats shared first with NBCNews, warned Democrats against talking in extreme terms in the wake of the highly charged days following the ICE shooting of Renee Nicole Good. "The impulse is emotional. The slogan is simple. But politically, it is lethal," a memo written by Sarah Pierce and Lanae Erickson, leaders in social policy for Third Way. "Every call to abolish ICE risks squandering one of the clearest opportunities in years to secure meaningful reform of immigration enforcement - while handing Republicans exactly the fight they want."

Jeri Rees said her 21-year-old nephew underwent six hours of surgery and that doctors found shards of plastic, glass and metal embedded in his eyes and around his face, including a metal piece lodged 7 mm from a carotid artery. The video cuts to three agents approaching the group before one agent tries to take a young person into custody, prompting at least three demonstrators to try to intervene. The person taken into custody was identified by friends as Skye Jones. In the video, at least one agent appears to fire nonlethal rounds at the crowd, hitting one woman in the leg before aiming and striking the victim in the face. The video shows the victim dropping to the ground after being shot, holding their face as the crowd retreats. The same agent then drags the victim by the hood of their jacket; they appear to be choking, grasping at the jacket binding their neck as blood pours from their left eye. Another video shows the victim inside the building, lying on the ground bleeding while agents fire what appear to be pepper balls at the back of the head and neck of a man trying to record the incident with his cellphone. Rees said her nephew told her that the agents pressed his face against the pool of blood and did not immediately call paramedics. "The other officers were mocking him, saying, 'You're going to lose your eye," she said, recalling what her nephew told her.

59 minutes ago The New York Times In Catia la Mar, a city just west of the Caracas airport, the air strikes hit a three-story civilian apartment complex, knocking out an exterior wall and killing at least one older woman, the victim's family said. The woman, Rosa González, died in the strike and a second person was seriously wounded, the family said. One woman in the building said she was hit and nearly lost her eye. Another person, a 70-year-old man named Jorge who declined to give his last name, said he "lost everything" when the bomb exploded.

Weijia, As a WHCA member: It seems inappropriate to frame today's concerns as a misuse of the DL when many of us — WHCA members and journalists who cover the White House daily, many foreigners — are asking why this was allowed to happen. You guys had the option to send other reporters from independent media, yet a Saudi state outlet ended up as the sole foreign pool representative? How? Why? Given the sensitivity of this visit and the fact that the background material they provided omitted any reference to the murder of Jamal Khashoggi, it is reasonable for correspondents to question how this decision was made. Khashoggi's murder remains a central issue in the relationship between the United States and Saudi Arabia, and it was raised again in the Oval Office. Ignoring it or sidelining those who bring it up does not help the credibility of the pool system and our work, which is already under attack as it is. Several folks have been asking for clarity on how WHCA foreign members are heard, how decisions are coordinated, and why new input is excluded. These are legitimate questions about process and representation. They deserve answers, not warnings! Dear Colleagues, This DL serves a critical purpose to ensure journalists who are not part of the White House press pool can receive updates about POTUS in a timely manner to file. It is not a place to express your concerns or to have an open dialogue about the content of the pool reports. Doing so is disruptive and distracting. Using this email thread inappropriately will result in the loss of your access not only in replying to the emails, but to receiving them. He and I agreed a price of 30m. (His wife ends up going to jail for lying to the bankrupty trustee about her jewelry.) this is in the summer of 04.. 1 became the stalking horse bidder at 36 m. ie if someone bid higher I would receive a fee. trump buys the house at the telephone auction. only me trump and his friend pulty the developer. He quickly puts it on the market for 125 million. . and no one will touch it. serves the purpose of a justification for a high sale later what else it " owns". it is is bough in the name of trump properties Ilc.. no idea who owns it. or Three ycars later 08 he sells it to Ryboloolev for approx 100 million. He should have had a 50 million plus capital gain. he tells people and press he spent 20-30 m to fix up. that would justifiy a reduction in captial gains. key question how did he report the sale, if he did at all on his 08 tax return. He has no money. when he buys the house. His biz model is putting his name on a real estate development and gets a fee for using his name. The hotel biz is just that. someone else buys the hotel. hoping to make a profit from its operation and eventual sale. Trump put his name on it, and get a 2% fee and maybe a piece of the profit if any on sale. He touts the project as " his." ... just as in his current financial statements on file as president he lists his " income " as the GROSS receipts of the clubs. with no expenses deducted. not his personal revenue. ie the doral golf club loses money every ycar. it pays out more than it takes in, but he lists the revenue as his income.
