I had a Pom. They’re the best! She was legendary at the art gallery where I used to work. People loved to feed her at the art openings! She once stole grapes that were part of an art installation. She crossed the rainbow bridge years ago and lives on in my heart.

My Albuquerque backyard. Most trees and bushes and plants are drought tolerant. Some are native to NM. Cat mint and lambs ears took over. Pollinators love them so I don’t mind.

Into the Silence by Wade Davis describes WW1 veteran Mallory’s attempt to climb Mt Everest. He begins the book by detailing the horrors of trench warfare. I believe his fellow climbers were also veterans of that truly awful war.
