My all time favorite is the whiskey sour but have you ever had a Burlington Sour? Scratch that simple syrup and throw in that 100% maple syrup and enjoy your happy life!

I guess I should have read some news and I would have seen they already bent the knee and kissed the ring. Shameful.
December 18, 2024 at 11:15 PM
Billionaires shouldn't exist. They are only able to achieve this level of wealth by utilizing public services and abusing society as a whole. It is shameful we haven't put a stop to it yet.

And we all know they'll kiss the ring. They always do.

It is never enough for these types of people, you said it yourself, they are addicted to greed AND power.

Everyone believes themselves to be a temporarily embarrassed millionaire and thinks they'll obtain that level of wealth one day and refuse to put in safeguards to protect our society.
December 18, 2024 at 11:06 PM
This isn't the way to improve our society. I'm not entirely sure what the end goal is by increasing the tariffs since it would just reduce the spending power for the average US Citizen.

The only thing I can think of is that this is designed to line the pockets of billionaires some more.
December 18, 2024 at 2:34 AM
"Gonna be interesting..." that is one way to say it. I like to say "gonna really screw American businesses and ultimately the American people".

Nearly half of the US revenue is created through income taxes while tariffs only created approximately $80 billion in revenue.

If I was 18, I'm still wrong because I haven't been an adult long enough or hadn't finished school. After that it became, "you'll know more when you have kids".

Essentially, it is hubris that age somehow bestows wisdom and prestige. But we all know the truth, it doesn't.

We need new leadership!
December 17, 2024 at 11:12 PM
I think old folks just have it in their heads they are right, no matter what. I've experienced this from even my own parents growing up. Even as an adult they'd always say, "you just don't know yet until you've been around as long as I have". It was a never ending cycle of moving the goalpost.

This stuff can't be real right? Are they just playing into the stupidity of their base or do they really believe this nonsense?
December 17, 2024 at 10:33 PM
I miss the simpler times when Nazi's didn't pretend to be "pro life" and were ostracized from the public forum.

I'm staying optimistic that the progressive movement will continue to prevail in the end.

I had a MD recently tell me that RFK jr is onto something with the raw milk stuff. You see, people drank raw milk 100 years ago and they didn’t have the diseases we have today according yo this doctor. I mean, sure they also had Polio but RFK is onto something!
December 17, 2024 at 7:45 PM
This is what will most likely happen. Tariffs waived for companies that play nice with the Trump admin or make contributions to him and screw everyone else. Sad stuff ahead for us as Americans.
December 17, 2024 at 6:26 PM
The old guard will part this earth one day, @godpod.bsky.social willing!

When that is done, I hope the younger Dems seize the party and build a strong pro people/labor party focused on building up the citizens and pushing against corporatism.

People like @aoc.bsky.social give me hope for democracy

I think it is more likely he runs for MI governorship. I’d be super happy to support him again in ‘28 though.
December 17, 2024 at 6:20 PM
He had my support in the 2020 Dem. Primary.

As I get older and witness all of these senseless deaths as a result of the religiosity the American public has for gun ownership, the more I become a fan of the "collective rights" argument for the second amendment versus it being an individual right. I say this as a gun owner.
December 17, 2024 at 2:43 AM
You’re 100% correct and that is why the left needs to build a free media apparatus to compete with the right.

Some good news before the end of ‘24!
December 12, 2024 at 8:20 PM
As soon as the progressive movement realizes that this is a battle of who owns the narrative more than anything else, we may have a chance to be a true opposition party.

The GOP doesn’t win on policy, no, they only win on owning the narrative and eliciting an emotional response from the people.
December 12, 2024 at 2:29 PM
Obeying in advance is the biggest crime to commit in times like this. It’s a shame to see so many roll over and freely pass on being part of the opposition.
December 12, 2024 at 2:27 PM
I would have to agree this is just wishful thinking. The GOP and Trump have shown they care nothing for norms and if there is nothing to hold them accountable they’ll continue to break every norm and rule they can.
December 12, 2024 at 1:31 PM
Let’s just hope Bluesky won’t sell out the moment they can. Jay, the CEO, has already said they won’t rule out ads. Everyone starts with good intentions and hopefully they stay true to being a public benefit corp.

I’m never super optimistic when it comes to these things though.

What did Greece ever do to deserve this nonsense?
